What We Believe Interdependence of the Local Church

Interdependence of the Local Church

Interdependence of the Local Church:  Each Baptist congregation is autonomous and has the responsibility to establish its own pattern for ministry, mission, and the call of its pastor, budget, and doctrine.  While we relate to our denominational family and other ministry groups, the local church congregation is the final arbiter as by prayer and with the guide of the Scriptures, it seeks to discover and follow God’s will.  While the congregation is autonomous it is not “independent” in its thinking, but rather “interdependent and seeks to relate to the larger Church of Jesus Christ through formalized relationships of ministry.  We are accountable to others in Christ and seek to partner wherever possible to advance the larger Kingdom work God has for us to do.
