What We Believe

God– We believe that God eternally exists in three Persons—the Father, the Son and the
Holy Spirit-and that these three are one God, having the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of the same worship, reverence and obedience.
God the Father– God the Father is the creator and sustainer of all things, and He created the universe in love. He created man in His own image for fellowship and called man back to Himself through Christ after the rebellion and fall of man.
Jesus Christ– We believe Jesus, the eternal Son of God. For man’s redemption, He took upon Himself the form of a man by means of the virgin birth, lived a sinless life, yet retained His absolute deity, being at the same time very God and very man.
Holy Spirit– We believe the Holy Spirit is God. The Promise of the Father, the Comforter who indwells and places every believer in the Body of Christ. He empowers the saints for service and witness, cleanses individuals from the old nature and transforms us to the image of Christ.
The Bible– We believe in the inspiration, infallibility, and sufficiency of Scripture, as revealed in the Old and New Testaments. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living, and is the final authority on all matters of faith.
Salvation– We believe Christ’s vicarious death on the cross paid the penalty for the sins of the whole world, but its benefits are only applicable to those who receive Jesus as their personal Savior. Salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Humanity– We believe man was created in the image of God, but sinned and fell through
disobedience, and that the entire human race shares in man’s lost and depraved nature. People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. All of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin,” which separates people from God.
The Church– We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus is the Head. The local church is a tangible expression of Christ in a particular location. Since all members of the body of Christ are united in Christ by the same Spirit, they should live in love, harmony and unity. The goal of the Church is to make disciples of all nations and to present believers mature in Christ.
The Christian Life– We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for themselves, and should, by the power of the indwelling Spirit, allow Christ to manifest His life through them to God’s glory. By growing in obedience to the Word of God, each believer should mature and progressively become more like Jesus.
